News from UK TOUR 2013

Good morning Butlins!  Joe here.  We just finished the 5th night of the tour.

It's been amazing so far.  Last night at the Great Rock and Blues Fest we had the biggest crowd of the tour, and they went wild.  It was a major stage in front of thousands of people.

It's been amazing so far.  Last night at the Great Rock and Blues Fest we had the biggest crowd of the tour, and they went wild.  It was a major stage in front of thousands of people.
Every night has been great in its own way,
Kicking off the tour at the Marton Hotel was fine and with the shows at Hertford, Hessel, Mickleton, the band is playing better and better.  I personally am feeling better about my  guitar playing,  because I'm getting more comfortable with my new Zoom pedal and Line 6 wireless guitar system.   The Zoom multi effects pedal is easy to program, sounds great,  and allows me to customize my sounds for each song in the set.  Also i have TWO Marshall Blues Breaker amps.  These are the best rigs I've ever played through on a nightly basis.  Last night I added an organ effect for Dennis's song Black Juju.
Seven more shows to go. There are colds and sniffles going round the guys but that is typical for this time of year.  I expect the next shows should go by smoothly.
We've been riding in a Mercedes van that is pretty comfy.  Our agent, Peter Barton, has provided an excellent driver/tour manager Phil Knight who has taken good care of us.  On the last two shows when Phil was stage managing at Butlins, Chris Allen has been our driver.  Both guys are long time experienced English musicians. Phil a drummer,  and Chris a singer who now sings with a new version of The Troggs.  Chris sang Wild Thing with us at the Mickleton Blues Club for our encore.  The crowd loved it and gave us a standing ovation.
We'd love to play some new songs from the yet to be released album, and there are several barn burners in the lot, but generally we've got our hands full ironing out the kinks in some of the more complicated Alice and BOC songs like Elected and No More Mr. Nice Guy, Nosferatu etc.
Hope to blog a bit more down the road.  No Internet for the last two days has been frustrating but we'll be back connected with the fans soon.  Stay tuned and leave a comment on our Facebook or just email us.  We love to hear from YOU!
